With their high fibre content, chia seeds and flaxseed are good-quality prebiotics. Sunflower seeds are a source of unsaturated fats giving fluidity to the seed paste. The strong flavour of chia seed is softened by the fruity flavour of flaxseed and the more neutral flavour of sunflower seeds.
FLANQUART proposes two types of chia seed, flaxseed and sunflower seed paste. One, which is relatively dark brown in colour, is made using black chia seeds and brown flaxseed, while the other is much more neutral and is made with white chia seeds and golden flaxseed.

Golden flax and sunflower seed purée
- A neutral-colored purée that integrates easily into BVP, catering, and ice cream recipes. The flax–sunflower blend emulsifies well and retains water efficiently. It serves as a natural binder or fat/egg replacer.
Brown flax and sunflower seed purée
Similar properties to the golden flax blend but with a darker color — ideal for chocolate and biscuit applications.
Chia, flax, and sunflower seed purée
- This blend combines the hydrocolloidal properties of chia and flax for water retention capacity 3–4 times greater than citrus or wheat fiber. It provides strong binding and excellent emulsion stability in neutral, acidic, or alkaline environments.
